One of my favorite questions I get asked is: “When did you decide to become a veterinarian?”. My parents tell me that as a young child I would say ‘I want to be an animal doctor”. I grew up having dogs, pet chickens and even raised wild baby birds. Since taking care of animals has always been a passion of mine, choosing veterinary medicine as a career came natural to me.
After graduating from the University of Florida in 1996 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, I practiced for two years in Pinellas County before going back to school for one more year where I received specialized training in medicine and surgery at Virginia Tech. Then I returned to Pinellas County and worked at many different practices as a “Relief Veterinarian”. The last four years I also worked for Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Services where I was able to expand my knowledge and experience in critical care and emergency medicine. Also, some of my other interests within the veterinary field include internal medicine, geriatrics and dermatology.
My husband Jack and I have three amazing children, two wonderful dogs and a very clever cat. We love everything the West Coast of Florida has to offer especially the beautiful and tranquil beaches. Settling in Largo is ideal since we are within minutes of the Gulf of Mexico.
I hope to grow my practice and form long lasting relationships with my clients and their furry family.
